"Do you make a Keto ball?"

sad plate keto empty

We often get asked if we offer a “Keto ball”. The Keto diet promotes consuming very low carbs and high fats (similar to the Atkins diet), which puts your body into a metabolic state called ketosis. Without getting too technical, ketosis is a state where your body uses energy from fat sources instead of carb sources.

While Keto and other high-fat diets are currently popular and can promote weight loss and other health benefits, there are some significant drawbacks. These can range from bad breath and constipation to nutritional deficiencies. The biggest drawback for most people (and the biggest reason people cannot sustain this diet) is that you have to limit many foods like bread and pasta, beans, sweets, fruits, and some vegetables. If you adhere strictly to the diet, you might need to restrict your carb intake to 20 grams per day, which is not very much considering one slice of high-quality bread typically has ~25 carbs.

As the owner of Oatballs and a self-proclaimed foodie, the last thing I want to do is give up any food, especially carbs. I’ve tried low-carb diets. I know they work for weight-loss, but with some other lifestyle changes, you shouldn’t have to give up the foods you love and the foods your body needs to function.

Our goal in the Oatball kitchen is to create a well-rounded ball 🤣and have fun with flavor combinations at the same time. Carbs give you energy for both mental and physical activity. Healthy fats also help with energy levels, so it’s essential to add them into your diet as well. Whether it's to get you through your workout, get your kids from activity to activity, or get you through back-to-back meetings, we all need energy.  As with anything, moderation and balance are the keys to maintaining a healthy diet.

Oats are the perfect energy source because they are slowly absorbed into the body, which makes you feel full longer and give you long-lasting energy. That, in turn, can keep you from overeating or eating the wrong thing in a pinch to fix a craving. That’s why we make Oatballs that are Well. Rounded. Goodness. Oatballs contain carbs, protein, AND fats. Shop now for your favorite flavor!
