Here at Oatballs, we’re starting a series of blogs that compares our oatballs to our favorite desserts. For our first comparison, we decided to look at Peanut Butter Cookies (after all, today is National Peanut Butter Cookie day). We wanted to see how our Peanut Butter Cookie Oatball compares to a classic peanut butter cookie. After researching many sites, we found this top-rated/ reviewed peanut butter cookie recipe because we thought it would be comparable to how grandma would’ve made it. We made this Classic Peanut Butter Cookie recipe.
We love experimenting for a couple of reasons. One, the smells in the Oatball kitchen are amazing! (Peanut Butter is in the air, both figuratively and literally). And two, it’s fun to see how healthy we can make Oatballs, and still be delicious! With the Peanut Butter Cookie Oatball, you’ll never know what you’re missing!
When we make Oatballs, we precisely measure all the ingredients to make a consistent product for our customers. Making the cookies was no different. Our Oatballs are 45 grams each (ingredients and nutrition info), so we measured the cookies the same. While the cookies baked and cooled, we calculated the nutrition facts for the cookie.
Here’s the breakdown for one serving (one Oatball/ one cookie). The Peanut Butter Cookie Oatball was lower in calories, carbs, fat, and sugar (1/2 the amount) yet higher in protein and fiber (double the amount) – just what we expected and just what we want in a delicious treat!
